The Family and Community Services team holds the Aboriginal Child Specialist Advice and Support Service Program (ACSASS) which provides expert advice and consultation to Child Protection at the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing, in relation to the cultural needs and issues of Aboriginal children.
MDAS is a Child Safe Organisation and works from the Best Interest Case Practice Model, through an Aboriginal cultural lens.
This means we strive to help our clients maintain their connections to their community, their families and, importantly, their culture.
