MDAS Clinic not a COVID-19 exposure site
MDAS vaccination clinic has reopened
• MDAS was notified by the Department of Health last night (07/09/2021) that its clinic on Orange Avenue, Mildura (the former CFA building) had potentially been visited by an individual with a confirmed case of COVID-19
• This was fully investigated by the Department
• The Department has confirmed the MDAS vaccination clinic is NOT a COVID-19 exposure site
• A full list of exposure sites will be published by the Department later today
• MDAS responded by COVID-19 testing ALL staff in the vaccination clinic and the Health clinic, ALL of whom have returned negative results
• The Department cleared the MDAS vaccination clinic to reopen today
• After undertaking steps to ensure the health and safety of all staff and visitors to the clinic, the vaccination clinic opened for business at 1pm today (08/09/2021)
• All of the vaccination appointments for this morning have been rescheduled to Monday morning
• All staff in the MDAS vaccination clinic are fully (double) vaccinated against COVID-19 and wear full PPE
• All COVID-safe processes are followed by staff working at the clinic
• The clinic is entirely separate to all other MDAS operations in Mildura
• MDAS would like to reassure all Community members the MDAS vaccination clinic is a safe place to be
Background:
• MDAS started administering COVID-19 vaccines in March 2021
• In Mildura, clinics are being held Monday-Friday at the old CFA building in Orange Ave. Appointments are available by phoning 1800 183 593 or emailing covidvaccineclinic@mdas.org.au
• In Swan Hill and Kerang, COVID-19 vaccinations are by appointment. To make an appointment, phone MDAS Swan Hill 5032 8600.
