MDAS Robinvale office open for business
Community event to celebrate new office
Mallee District Aboriginal Services’ new Robinvale headquarters will be officially opened at a ceremony and community celebration on Friday, May 17, 2019.

The transformation of 77 Perrin Street into office space is now complete, with meeting areas and separate offices for client confidentiality.
Program Coordinator of MDAS Family Services at Robinvale Des Smith said it was a great outcome for the town’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
“The former site we were in since MDAS started providing services in Robinvale in 2015 had a very nice river view, but it wasn’t very convenient for the community!” Mr Smith said.
“This is a fantastic location, right in the middle of town and really accessible and central for community members to get to on foot, rather than some clients having to get taxis or a lift to come and see us,” he said.
The opening day will be celebrated with a barbecue lunch, jumping castle, face painting and kids’ activities at nearby Caix Square, as well as information on MDAS programs and tours of the new offices between 11 and 2.
MDAS provides a range of family services in Robinvale, including Integrated Family Services; youth justice; Early School Leavers’ Program; housing support; and Men’s Time Out program.
“We have a fantastic crew here at the office and we’ve been gradually building the engagement with clients and community,” Mr Smith said.
“We’re expecting we’ll see more people coming through the doors with the convenience of the new location,” he said.
