It is time to recognise and celebrate people who've made an outstanding contribution to our local community.
We are looking for people from all walks of life, who are dedicated to making positive changes for Aboriginal people living in the Mallee region. Do you know of someone like this?
If so, please take the time to nominate them in one of the following award categories.
ELDERS NAIDOC AWARDS - Mildura
(Nominees must be 50+ years old)
Sports Person Award
This award category is designed to acknowledge a sports person or team who have excelled in sports or make a positive contribution to the sporting community.
Volunteer Award
This award category is designed to acknowledge individuals and groups who have excelled and make a positive contribution to the community through volunteering.
Partnership / Organisation Recognition Award
This award category is designed to acknowledge individuals, groups or organisations who have excelled and make positive contributions to the community. This is to recognise those who create partnerships to better community programs, events, and functions.
2023 Aunty Bev Peter Award – Community Excellence
This award in in honour of the late Aunty Bev Peter and is awarded to an individual and / or a group who have excelled and make a positive contribution to their community and strive for community excellence. It might be a local artist, a great community project or someone who has achieved in education or training. It might be the quiet achievers, the foster parents and carers or volunteers. If you know someone who is deserving of recognition for their work – please nominate them.
Lifetime Achievement & Honour Roll
This award is for an individual who has dedicated their life to making a positive change in the community. We are seeking to recognise individuals who have demonstrated leadership and excellence over their lifetime. This award is also for an individual to be inducted into the Mildura NAIDOC Honour Roll. It is recognising an individual who has dedicated their life to making positive change in the community. We are seeking to recognise an individual who has demonstrated leadership and excellence over their lifetime.
Elder of the Year (Male)
This award celebrates a male Elder whose dedication to people, culture and future generations has been lifelong and has left an indelible impact in their communities and is well respected within their community.
Elder of the Year (Female)
This award celebrates a female Elder whose dedication to people, culture and future generations has been lifelong and has left an indelible impact in their communities and is well respected within their community. |

(Nominees must be 12-17 years old)
Caring for Culture Award (Male)
This award category is a person aged 12-17 who is actively practicing, promoting, and sharing culture through any of the following means - dance, language, art, being a proud Aboriginal person etc.

Youth Award (Male)
This award category is designed to acknowledge a youth member who has excelled and makes a positive contribution to their community. The youth member must be within the ages of 12-17 years old.

Sports Person Award (Male)
