Building skills and understanding
The MDAS Mentoring Program aims to support the career development of MDAS staff by facilitating relationships that allow less experienced staff to develop their professional skills and support their aspirations.
The program seeks experienced staff and community members who are willing to share their expertise, advice and knowledge and partners them with staff who have identified career aspirations and who seek assistance in developing personally and professionally to achieve these goals.
The Mentoring Program is designed to create relationships in which support and knowledge are shared between the Mentor and Mentee. These programs are designed to build a professional and culturally rich exchange between the partner participants.
In addition to fostering support to develop staff members on a professional level, the MDAS Mentoring Program facilitates mentoring relationships to increase cultural awareness across all levels of the organisation and the wider community.
The Mentoring Program enables links to be established with professionals from within MDAS as well as its various external partners and community members. To achieve the desired outcomes, the program will match mentors and mentees with complementary backgrounds, aspirations, skills, knowledge and attributes.
A committee of appropriately skilled people will assess all applications received.
