SOCIAL & EMOTIONAL WELLBEING SERVICES

Our Social and Emotional Wellbeing Team offers intensive support to clients and their families that is respectful and supportive.


Our goal is to engage, support and strengthen Aboriginal people affected by social and emotional wellbeing issues, in order to improve their health, wellbeing and participation in the community.

Our programs include:

MDAS SEWB client services include assessment, counselling and support for individuals with social and emotional wellbeing issues, as well as development of individual treatment plans. 

This may include referral to other MDAS programs and services as required, such as psychologist, Support Accommodation Assistance Program, other MDAS Health and Integrated Family Services Programs. Our support may include advocacy and support in court, assessment and referral to withdrawal and rehabilitation services. 

We also operate a needle and syringe program.

Referrals

Referrals can be made by any service or agency wanting to refer an Aboriginal client in need.

These may include:
  • Hospitals
  • Schools
  • GPs
  • Courts
  • Non-government agencies. 
Clients may self- refer and family members of clients with social and emotional wellbeing issues can also be supported by our SEWB service.
